Mr. Linnell holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Composition and Theory from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and has extensive performance experience as a trumpeter in orchestras and chamber ensembles. His primary teachers were Steve Erickson of the Omaha Symphony, Mike Thompson of the Lincoln Symphony, and John Aley of the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Mr. Linnell has also studied with Dennis Schneider and Darryl White of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Charles Schlueter of the Boston Symphony, John Henes of the Chicago Lyric Opera Orchestra, and Jennifer Bales of the Heartland of America Band at Offutt Air Force Base.
